writing as Beth Watson Statement of Faith and Salvation Testimony
I believe in an infinite, perfect, triune God who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin, and that He lived a sinless life and suffered a vicarious and atoning death.
I believe in Jesus’ bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent personal return to earth in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.
I believe that Jesus’ atoning death, burial, and bodily resurrection is the only way to God and salvation and eternal life.
I believe the Bible to be the inerrant, authoritative Word of God and that all Scripture, as originally penned, was inspired by God. I believe that the Word of God is trustworthy, authoritative, and profitable for every aspect of life.
On January 22, 1980, I acted on these beliefs and accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and try to live daily in a way that glorifies Him.
I believe that a Christian’s daily actions and words are a testimony of who we are as followers of Christ.
I believe that the local church is vital to the Christian life and spiritual growth. My husband Wayne and I have been members of Gill Grove Baptist Church since our return to Virginia in 1993, where I have had the privilege of serving as the church organist.
